Metal Elephant

Brian Walters made this elephant from an old drum, stove pipe, sheet metal, an old snow sled from the 1960's, and thick wall pipe. Parts from old lawn chairs form the tusks.
He stick welded the elephant using his "bullet proof" Lincoln Electric AC-225, affectionately known as a "buzz box."
Although stick welding the thin material wasn't easy, Brian felt that the process was definitely an advantage when welding on the old dirty, greasy and rusted materials.
The piece was featured in the P.T. Barnum parade earlier this month in the town where Brian lives. He usually doesn't create folk/garden art, but it was a fun piece to do that everyone seems to enjoy.
Brian has attended both the Basic and Advanced classes at Lincoln Electric's Motorsports Welding School.
